Berberidopsidales Doweld (2001) is a botanical name at the rank of order. This name is only newly published: such an order has been recognized by very few taxonomists.[1] The APG II system, of 2003, merely mentions the possibility of recognizing the order, as comprising the families Berberidopsidaceae and Aextoxicaceae. However, APG II decided not to do so: it left the plants involved unplaced as to order, assigning them to the clade core eudicots.[2] The APG III system of 2009 formally recognized the order.
